Motorhomes added as a new category to the CRS
A new category has been created with the addition of eight motorhomes of the Volkswagen California family to the Crash Recovery System. The Volkswagen California has a rich history and is popular with motorhomes. We have included the following (modern) versions in the CRS in the Motorhomes category:
T5 California (2003 – 2010) and T5-GP California (2010 – 2015)
T6 California (2015 – 2019) and T6.1 California (2019 – )
Grand California 600 (2020 – ) and Grand California 680 (2020 – )
Caddy California (2021 – ) and Caddy California Maxi (2021 – )
As far as we are concerned, these Volkswagen California motorhomes are just the beginning. We expect to be able to add more brands and models to the motorhomes category in the near future.
CRS for first responders
Crucial information for first responders in the case of an accident can be found, as usual, in the CRS Rescue Sheet. When a motorhome is involved in an accident or fire situation, manual selection in the CRS via brand and model in the motorhomes category is always possible and in some cases, selection can be made using the registration number. The Rescue Sheet displays, among other things, the location of the fuel tank, airbags, air conditioning and if present, the gas tank and/or the solar panel. It also offers support in deactivating the electrical system.
