HESS lighTram® buses added to the CRS
As urban population centres grow, the population’s need for mobility is rapidly increasing. As a result, public transport is booming and the demand for environmentally friendly means of transport is increasing. Now urban zones are reaching their capacity limits and ecologically innovative traffic solutions are being sought, Swiss bus builder HESS has the solution with the lighTram®.
The low-emission electric drive makes the lighTram® the ideal means of transport for heavy city traffic. As powerful as they are, they are economical in their energy consumption and recoup recovered braking energy. Thanks to its innovative, patented drive technology with intelligent control, it impresses even in wintery and topographical difficult conditions. The lighTram® comes in lengths of 10, 19 and 25 metres, with the latter having the manoeuvrability of normal articulated buses thanks to two steered axles.
Hess in the Crash Recovery System
Thanks to a good, growing cooperation with HESS, multiple variants of the lighTram® can be added to the Crash Recovery System database. The main focus for emergency responders in the event of an accident is to deactivate the bus. The CRS provides this crucial information and also shows the location of the safety components so that precautions can be taken.
