Providing access: Use the CRS
Providing access to the occupant(s) in a crashed vehicle can be challenging for first responders.
There are many different designs of doors in passenger cars and vans. Sliding doors, wing doors and rear doors consisting of several parts are common. There are also non-standard door handles and various types of tailgate handles. These include recessed handles and integrated handles in the brand’s logo.
The Crash Recovery System supports first responders while providing access. Information is on opening the bonnet/front luggage compartment, tailgate and emergency door release. This information can be found under the symbols to the vehicle’s left in the CRS Rescuesheet.
